Another Awesome Stay at the Middlecreek Valley Chalets

Filed under: Pigeon Forge — Gatlinburg Pigeon Forge Attractions June 27, 2007 @ 10:27 am

My wife and I took a recent trip back up to Pigeon Forge for the long Memorial Day weekend. Once again, we stayed at the Middlecreek Valley Chalets in Pigeon Forge in the awesome little one bedroom cabin. It seems like we were the only people on the property for most of the weekend. It was very quiet. We were able to sit on our porch and read, talk and enjoy the view. We grilled out and took advantage of the conveniences and stuff to do in Pigeon Forge. We shopped and took in a Tennessee Smokies baseball game.

Applebarn = Best Breakfast Restaurant in Pigeon Forge

On most every trip to Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge my wife and I stop at the Applebarn Cider Mill for breakfast.  We always have to make sure that we save up plenty of room because we always eat so much.  This is your typical Southern breakfast with egss any way, bacon, sausage, hash browns, pork chops, steak and best of all…the apple fritters.  The Applebarn apple fritters are a cross between muffins and hush puppies that taste AWESOME!

You’ll love the atmosphere at the Applebarn – the building is, as the name states, a barn, and the staff are dressed like they are from “Little House on the Prairie.”  The food is excellent and comes out fast.  I have friends who make special day trips to Pigeon Forge just to eat at the Applebarn.

For more information about the Applebarn you can visit their website at http://www.applebarncidermill.com.  For more information about stuff to do in Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, visit www.gatlinburgpigeonforgeattractions.com.

Everyone loves their escapes to Gatlinburg because of the serenity, beauty, and don’t forget, there’s tons of stuff to do.  But how do you take your family (or just yourself) without spending a ton of money.  And how do you know if someone is just taken advantage of a tourist or visitor to Gatlinburg?

I recently read a neat article on “how can you take your family [to Gatlinburg] without being taken?

This article highlights at least six ways you can save money when travelling to Gatlinburg this summer from taking alternate routes so you don’t waste gas sitting in traffic on I-40 to buying combo passes to the parks so you get to do more without purchasing a retail priced pass at each park.
