Shuttle Bus to Transport Folks Between Gatlinburg, TN and Cherokee, NC

Last week the Eastern Band of the Cherokee Indians unveiled a plan to operate a biodiesel shuttle bus between Cherokee, NC and Gatliinburg, TN.This will allow people of all ages who don’t like to drive to extend their Gatlinburg Vacation to a trip to Cherokee, or vice versa. There is a wide range of people who don’t like to drive, especially through the winding mountain roads that make up the trip through North Carolina into Gatlinburg, TN. The bus takes the trip to Gatlinburg through the Great Smoky Mountains National Park up Highway 441 and makes a 10 minute stop at the Newfound Gap Overlook for pictures.

One of the best things about this new shuttle bus is the affordability. For adults it costs $12 for a round trip, or just $7 for a one way trip. With gas costing nearly three dollars per gallon in many places this is very cheap! For seniors or groups of three or more the cost is only $10 for the round trip. The shuttle is operated 7 days a week between May and December and then just Friday through Monday with a limited schedule the rest of the year. For more information about where the “bus stops” are call 828.497.5296.
