A fun stop for the whole family in Gatlinburg is Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies on the Parkway in Gatlinburg.  There are several exhibits currently at Ripley’s aquarium.  They include the tropical rainforest, shark lagoon, coral reef, gallery of the seas, discovery center and touch-a-ray bay.

Here are some of the details about Ripley’s Aquarium: the home to all the sea creatures is a 1.4 million gallon world class aquarium, you are able to see all of the underwater sea life through the world’s largest underwater tunnel, living in this aquarium are the famous 12-foot sharks and while you’re walking through the Ripley’s Aquarium tunnels you’ll have the opportunity to see a thrilling dive show every hour.  Over in the Touch-A-Ray Bay you will be able to pet stingrays and hold horseshoe crabs and there’s even an educational discovery center where everyone will be able to check out stimulating educational presentations.

There aren’t too many places in the world where you can see all of these types of fish, especially 12-foot sharks that you don’t have to worry about snacking on you, and especially not in the middle of a land-locked state in Gatlinburg, Tennessee.  Next time you’re in Gatlinburg, you need to make a trip to the Ripley’s Aquarium for a day of fun and excitement.
