Tennessee Smokies Baseball in Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge

The first night we were in Gatlinburg we took in a baseball game at Smokies Park across the street from the Bass Pro Shop.  The Smokies are the AA affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks and put on a great show.  The Smokies were the 2004 Southern League Champions and looked pretty good against the Carolina Mudcats.  The stadium is a short ride from Gatlinburg or Pigeon Forge.  It is right at the intersection of I-40 and Hwy. 66.  Smokies park is beautiful.  The Smokies have been playing in Smokies Park since 2000 when they moved from Knoxville.

If you’re looking for something fun to do for the whole family the short trip out to Smokies Park from Gatlinburg or Pigeon Forge is an excellent choice.  The season lasts from April to September and there are always promotions going on including bobblehead night, fireworks, guest mascots and much more.
